1. Who We Are

Sawvant is operated by Silverfern Consultancy, based in Belgium. We provide a cutting optimization API at sawvant.com.

2. Data We Collect

Account data

When you register, we collect your email address and password (hashed). If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe collects your billing information directly. We store your Stripe customer ID but never your payment card details.

API usage data

We log API requests for rate limiting, billing, and debugging. Logs include timestamps, endpoints called, response status, and your API key identifier. We do not store your request payloads (cutting dimensions, material data) beyond the time needed to process your request.

Contact form data

When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, company name (optional), and message content.

Technical data

When something fails, we record technical details in our server logs: timestamp, the endpoint involved, response status, browser type, and the error itself. This data is used solely for debugging.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Provide and maintain the Sawvant API service
• Process billing and manage subscriptions
• Enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
• Respond to support and contact requests
• Send service-related emails (password resets, billing notifications)
• Diagnose and fix technical issues

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for marketing profiling. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking to understand how visitors find our website and which campaigns work.

4. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to operate the platform. These include:

• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
• Transactional email delivery (password resets, notifications)
• Application hosting and infrastructure
• Error tracking and performance monitoring
• Google Analytics 4 — usage statistics (pages visited, referral source, session duration). Places analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to identify returning visitors.
• Google Ads — conversion measurement and remarketing to understand which campaigns drive sign-ups. Places advertising cookies (_gcl_au) when you arrive via a Google ad.

Each service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data required for each service to function.

5. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

• sawvant_session — essential. Keeps you logged in. httpOnly, secure, strictly necessary for the service to function.
• _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics. Identifies returning visitors and groups sessions.
• _gcl_au — Google Ads. Attributes sign-ups to ad clicks.

You can opt out of analytics and advertising cookies through your browser settings, the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or by using a tracking-blocker extension. The essential session cookie cannot be disabled while using the service.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers within the European Union. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. API keys are generated with cryptographically secure methods and can be revoked at any time through your dashboard.

All data transmission between your browser or application and our servers is encrypted using TLS.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. API usage logs are retained for 90 days. When you delete your account, all personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or billing purposes.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Rectification — correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Restriction — restrict processing of your data
• Objection — object to processing of your data

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the website. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
